Staff Software Engineer -Backend

**Staff Software Engineer - Backend at Socure (Hybrid - London)** **What you'll do** - Design and build highly scalable, reliable backend services and APIs - Own complex technical problems from architecture through production - Work across teams to deliver impactful solutions - Drive architectural decisions and improve engineering standards - Build secure, observable, and resilient distributed systems - Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar across the team - Solve challenging production and performance problems at scale **What they're looking for** - Strong experience building and operating large-scale backend systems - Hands-on experience with Golang preferred; Java or Scala also relevant - Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, REST APIs, and AWS - Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases - Exposure to high-volume data, streaming, or event-driven systems - Strong understanding of security, privacy, and data protection - Excellent problem-solving skills and comfort working through ambiguity - Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical decisions **Details** - Location: Hybrid - London, United Kingdom - Type: FullTime - Salary: Not specified
